From London ... Charlie Hodges !

Charlie Hodges from London updates us on current trends, street style, many new passions and eccentricities of his city :) 

Charlie :   Hello there, my name is Charlie Hodges and I live just out of London in England. I am currently studying fashion design and I adore clothes, outfits and vintage That are a bit different!

Charlie : Well... my favourite trends of the summer include: Holographic, drawing influence from hussein Chalayan's ss 2012 collection . Holographic shoes, bags and even dresses can take a boring outfit into something spectacular.

 My other favourite trend includes denim on leather, be it a double denim outfit with a leather jacket or a leather skirt with denim crop top.

 I take inspiration from Gareth pugh for the leather element. His dark designs work well with the contrasting denim on leather.

 

          

Charlie :  My favourite collections include the Topshop Unique A/W 2013 collection as i adored the P.V.C skirts and fluffy pastel coats. I also loved the soundtrack "peanut butter" by alison Valentine which is now happily played on my ipad!

Charlie : Other notable collections include the Maria Grachovel show, which i was lucky enough to be helping out backstage with , I adored painting the model's nails and getting a taste of the pre show atmosphere.

Charlie :  At the moment my fashion MUST is a colourful fur coat, i a lucky enough to have a shaggy dip dye number from Topshop that i bought in the sale, which makes me look like a fashionable yeti!
I have also started making faux fur coats, so hope by the end of this yeat to have a faux fur wardrobe in a kaleidoscope of colours!

me : thanks Charlie!! ... what is the atmosphere like in London? The difficult years 90 seem to come back ... What brings people in the street?

Charlie : The atmosphere in London is one of colourful excitement , if you go to one of the key up and coming areas particularly in the East you start to see trends appear, particularly influencing from the 90s era.

Buffalo boots are starting to re occur, and also are juju jellies, shoes with elements of fun and playfullness seem to be key. Bold colours are also promenant with denim flashes and leather jackets to team up.
